The Foundation for Building Sustainable Communities (FBSC) is hosting its 5th Annual Harvest Dinner. This community driven, grass roots movement is inviting residents to join us in tasting the harvests of food gardens throughout the Region. FBSC has partnered with the Royal Canadian Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary.  This partnership was created to host the Victory Gardens Harvest Dinner in support of local food and a stronger community. As a tradition, the event uses as much food as possible grown at the Victory Garden. This year, we are recognizing the hard work of, and honouring community gardens across Durham Region. The proceeds will be donated to DIG in our goal of growing food and community through supporting urban agriculture in Durham..

A discount rate of $20 before September 16th is a available for DIG members. For Non DIG members tickets will be $25.

We are asking DIG Supporters to do the following:

  • Make a vegetable donation – squash, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, greens, onions etc (drop at Oshawa Legion at 471 Simcoe St. S. by Wed. Sept. 21; contact DIG info@durhamdigs.ca with questions)
  • Agree to a video interview highlighting their garden and contribution
  • Host a display table at the event
  • Purchase 4 to 10 tickets (60 have been reserved for DIG members)
