Mary Street Community Garden

Mary Street Community Garden

Our garden is nestled amidst the urban tapestry of apartment buildings, a soccer field, a children’s park, and a tennis court. Here, the soil teems with the dedication of new and established diverse Canadians alike, united by their love for gardening. From new to seasoned gardeners, and those requiring accessibility, our members tend to individual plots that burst with a variety of vegetable plants from around the world.
Amidst this tapestry, communal plots and garden waste composting systems flourish under the tender care of our gardeners, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and joy. Native flower beds with pollinators, communal plots for berries, herbs, and vegetables provide a bounty for all to enjoy.
Beyond our need to grow food, we gather leisurely, sharing laughter and stories during potluck socials that celebrate community and connection.
In our garden, each plant and person contributes to a vibrant mosaic, enriching not only the soil but also the spirit of belonging and togetherness that defines our community.
